Important Information for ABC-MI Delegates to the 2009 Annual Meeting

  

The ABC-MI Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Among other important items on the meeting agenda are proposed changes to the ABC-MI Bylaws which were approved by the Region Board at their May 2009 meeting. As required, we are providing delegates with notice of these changes prior to the vote at the Annual Meeting. Click to see the proposed changes to the Bylaws to be presented for approval by attending ABC-MI delegates at the Annual Meeting. The previously mailed delegate form must be completed by the appropriate church officer and forwarded to the Region office. If you need another delegate form, please contact Deb Hart at 800.632.29583 or dhart@abc-mi.org.

  

Note: All delegates must register for the Annual Meeting by completing the registration form and sending it to the Region office. If you intend to attend the business meeting only, please mark the “ANNUAL MEETING ONLY” line on the registration form. This will enable us to have enough delegate materials available. Meeting materials will be provided free of charge and meeting documents will be posted on the www.abc-mi.org website under “Document Library” before the Annual Meeting.

DONATIONS NEEDED

Now is when there is a plea for help with donating school supplies for needy children.  In today’s economy the need is even greater.  The wonderful thing about this is the supplies are discounted so much this month that the cost is so little and it is easy to help.

Friendship House is asking for usto support our American Baptist community center in Hamtramck.  Our list is not too long and it will help those children in this area with their needs: 

2 boxes of jumbo crayons (8 count)

4 packages of pens – blue or black (12 count)

6 packs of pencils (25 count) or equivalent

5 rulers

5 28 oz. Elmer’s glue or equivalent

7 loose leaf packages of paper

7 spiral notebooks  

If you would like to donate any of these items, please notify Kathy Collins and bring them to the church by next Sunday, August 16th.  Please place your donations in the container marked Friendship House.

Walk & Run

Registration is $25 before September 12th and $30 after.

  

We are having a Walk/Run at Camp Lael and are looking to all of you to gain a commitment of 10 walker/runners each, who have at least $100 in pledges.  This can include yourselves, family, friends, church members etc, as walkers or as pledgers.This is a great easy event to help raise alot of money. 

  

Hopefully if you cannot participate yourself, you will still be able to get others to participate.
